{"id":1568,"date":"2017-04-06T18:01:31","date_gmt":"2017-04-06T16:01:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nullalo.com\/?p=1568"},"modified":"2025-10-22T10:15:29","modified_gmt":"2025-10-22T08:15:29","slug":"chrome-installare-certificati-ssl-auto-firmati","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nullalo.com\/en\/chrome-how-to-install-self-signed-ssl-certificates\/","title":{"rendered":"Chrome: How to install self-signed SSL certificates"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Often, during the development of a website on our local machine (localhost) or on our remote private server, we do not have an SSL certificate issued by a trusted certification authority, and we are forced to configure the webserver with a <strong>self-signed certificate<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In this case, while browsers such as Firefox allow you to add an exception, even permanently, to the site in question, opening that website in Chrome will produce each time a notice of this type (<em><strong>NET::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID<\/strong><\/em>):<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nullalo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/chrome_ssl_01_en.png\" rel=\"lightbox[1568]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-1597\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/chrome_ssl_01_en-1024x582.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"582\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.nullalo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/chrome_ssl_01_en-1024x582.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.nullalo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/chrome_ssl_01_en-300x171.png 300w, https:\/\/www.nullalo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/chrome_ssl_01_en-768x436.png 768w, https:\/\/www.nullalo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/chrome_ssl_01_en-360x205.png 360w, https:\/\/www.nullalo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/chrome_ssl_01_en-750x426.png 750w, https:\/\/www.nullalo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/chrome_ssl_01_en.png 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This warning, moreover, will imply that you won&#8217;t be able to save login data of your website, as Chrome does not save forms information for websites having\u00a0an unsafe HTTPS connection.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">To resolve this problem, you need to accomplish a very simple task: export the SSL certificate for the website in the appropriate format and install it as a trusted certificate.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">To <strong>export the SSL certificate<\/strong> we&#8217;ll use Google Chrome.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Open Chrome and visit your website.
